A year already!

Where has the time gone? I am not quite sure. The Fall was busy with the kids back in school. I went back to work at Airport in January to run the e2020 program. Education 2020 is an online credit recovery program. It was interesting going in on a daily basis never quite sure which new challenge I would be facing. I enjoyed working with the students again but missed the everyday teaching aspect. Once again I will be laid off. So I am not sure what the future holds.

Ashlynn is 7! She just got done playing soccer and will be attending a basketball camp next week. Trying to turn her into a little athlete but she loves being on the sidelines cheering on her team more than playing with them. 1st grade has proven to be fun and exciting. She is reading at her grade level and this summer will be attending a reading class for the month of July.

Murray will be 4 in July! I can't believe he is that old. He is as cute as can be and loves to tease and torture his sister. He was at Meadowbank all year and we LOVE what the school has done for him. He loves words and numbers. Every night before bed we have to run down a list of words and what letters they begin with.

The Start and The End

The summer is finally here!! We have survived Ashlynn going to Kindergarten and Murray going to preschool. Summer is upon us and we made it up to the lake recently. Here are some pics of the kids at the cottage enjoying some swimming and fishing!!

And Koen too!! The end of the school year. I have to say that I couldn't have asked for a better first teaching job. The kid's and staff were awesome and I had so much fun. Sadly, I will not be back next year. They had to do some major lay offs in the district and because they elminated my position that meant there really was no where for me to go. But I will keep my fingers crossed that something could happen over the summer to open up a position for me. Things will work out how they are meant and I will be exactly where I should be next year. Whether that is at home again, teaching in another district or back where I am now but in a different job. Here is a picture of one of my last lesson's I did with the kid's. They spent a week writing poetry and when they completed all the poems they went outside to "publish" their poems on the sidewalk with chalk! Talk about fun!! ALL of them loved it!!

Floors & Cabinets

Day 12 and we now have a finished floor and cabinets. Next up is trim and a countertop! Hopefully the counter will be done by next weekend!!

We also figured this was the perfect chance to tear down old wallpaper. And we found a wall that was painted in this lovely greenish yellow color. Maybe we will keep it!! ;-)

Kitchen!!

Well, the floor is almost done. The cabinets are installed (still need doors). But we are getting there. Next up, the granite guy is coming to do the template for the counter and then it takes about 10 days to complete. So by the end of April the kitchen "should" be finished. The kid's finally got to see the new kitchen and Murray keeps asking "What happen to MY HOUSE". It is very funny. We are very excited and could hardly get over the amount of cabinet space we now have.
