The Start and The End
The summer is finally here!! We have survived Ashlynn going to Kindergarten and Murray going to preschool. Summer is upon us and we made it up to the lake recently. Here are some pics of the kids at the cottage enjoying some swimming and fishing!!

And Koen too!!
The end of the school year. I have to say that I couldn't have asked for a better first teaching job. The kid's and staff were awesome and I had so much fun. Sadly, I will not be back next year. They had to do some major lay offs in the district and because they elminated my position that meant there really was no where for me to go. But I will keep my fingers crossed that something could happen over the summer to open up a position for me. Things will work out how they are meant and I will be exactly where I should be next year. Whether that is at home again, teaching in another district or back where I am now but in a different job. Here is a picture of one of my last lesson's I did with the kid's. They spent a week writing poetry and when they completed all the poems they went outside to "publish" their poems on the sidewalk with chalk! Talk about fun!! ALL of them loved it!!

Kitchen!!
Well, the floor is almost done. The cabinets are installed (still need doors). But we are getting there. Next up, the granite guy is coming to do the template for the counter and then it takes about 10 days to complete. So by the end of April the kitchen "should" be finished. The kid's finally got to see the new kitchen and Murray keeps asking "What happen to MY HOUSE". It is very funny. We are very excited and could hardly get over the amount of cabinet space we now have.

A 6th Birthday And So Much More!
Ashlynn turned 6 in February and I am now just getting around to posting this blog. Yes, I am a bad Mom. Life has been very busy and I am now just getting a minute to finally get pictures downloaded from her Birthday. So, here you have it. I now have a 6 year old! It is very hard to believe and it amazes me to think of where I was 6 years ago with a small little baby in my arms not quite sure what I was supposed to do with it. We have managed to survive 6 years hopefully I will survive the next 6! :-)

And yes shortly before her birthday she lost her 2 front teeth!!!
And one of Murray cause we can't forget about him!!

Life in the Clark household has been a bit on the crazy side. Shortly after Ashlynn's birthday she had her tonsils out. The surgery went very well and the surgeon said her tonisils were HUGE! The recovery didn't go very well. We spent most of the first week recovering followed by 3-4 long weeks of a nasty virus that just would not leave. During this time we ended up in the ER with dehydration among other things. But I think we have finally kicked whatever it was and we are now on the road to recovery.

Next up for us, a Kitchen Remodel. I am very excited and can't wait for it to begin. It will be a couple of weeks of misery and a construction zone but know in the end it will be well worth it.

Where does the time go?
Wow! It has been a month since I posted last. Life in the Clark Household has been very busy.
Just before the New Year we went to the Ear Nose and Throat about Ashlynn's ear infections. They are caused from her tonsils and adenoids being enlarged. With one look at her tonsils the Doctor determined that they needed to be removed. We are scheduled for surgery on February 25. At that time, they will figure out if she will need tubes in her ears or not. She has been taking this like a champ but I am not 100% sure if she totally gets what is going to be happening to her. She seems very excited about the prospect of eating jello, ice cream and popsicles though.
Murray's vocabulary is growing tremendously. We are getting full sentences now. We are happy that we can finally understand what he is telling us.
My first few weeks back to school have been very hectic. In the first week back I had a student puke on my desk at school. Apparently she didn't understand that when we aren't feeling well we can just go to the bathroom and not ask (this was told to the class 2 days before). On my desk at the time was my Lesson Plan book. Which I had been constantly changing and adding notes to previous lesson, it was a total loss. Oh well....what can you do? Now my students in my English class are working on Digital Stories. They will actually be building them next week in the computer lab. I am very excited and this project has been in the works for well over 2 months. I am beginning to feel a sense of accomplishment with knowing the end is in sight.
We are also going to be doing some home improvement projects in April. We are totally gutting the kitchen. This will certainly be interesting....Stay tuned!
